Flooding hits Singapore’s Orchard Road
Singapore’s shopping mecca Orchard Road has been hit by flash floods.
The Straits Times reported that luxury items were among a wide range of goods destroyed by Wednesday’s floods.
Among the worst-hit stores were luxury goods retailer Hermes, apparel house Massimo Dutti and three-day-old fast-food restaurant Wendy’s, all at Liat Towers.
Stores at Lucky Plaza also suffered heavy losses.
Retailers there said it was the worst instance of flooding they had seen in years. Some said they had lost between S$8,000 and S$10,000 worth of goods.
