Guests warned over Legionnaires outbreak at Minnesota hotel
Guests staying at a Minnesota hotel in the past month are being warned they may have been exposed to Legionnaires’ disease.
The pool and spa area of the Crookston Inn and Convention Center has been shut down while the Minnesota Department of Health continues investigating.
Four people were confirmed to have contracted Legionnaires.
It is still trying to identify the source but health officials say ‘past experience’ suggests it is likely from the hotel’s spa.
"If you spent time at the hotel between January 14 and February 13 and are ill with undiagnosed pneumonia or you develop symptoms in the two weeks following your visit, please see a health care provider to be evaluated for possible Legionnaire’s disease," said Kris Ehresmann, director of the infectious disease division.
Symptoms include fever, fatigue, headaches and muscle aches.
The four confirmed cases visited the hotel between January 22 and 27 although none of them were overnight guests.
