HERTZ Expands fleet with more diverse Ford choices

Hertz has again expanded its Australian rental fleet, announcing orders for the elegant Ford Fairmont sedan and additional orders for the sporty Falcon XR6.

The upgrading of the six-cylinder Ford fleet – traditionally represented by the standard Falcon sedan – is part of an ongoing commitment by Hertz to offer a diverse range of quality vehicles for customers, and to continually renew the products offered.

“The Ford Falcon has been our signature vehicle for many years,” said Wayne Burgoyne, Director of Sales and Marketing for Hertz Australia.

“By introducing the Fairmont and expanding our XR6 fleet, we can now offer a more varied range of full-size Ford sedans to our business and our leisure customers,” said Mr Burgoyne.

“In doing so we can also convey to our customers that we’re continually refining our product to ensure that their rental experience is not only practical, but can be fun as well.”

The latest Fairmont is a four-speed automatic, with the added safety features of front and side airbags for the driver and front-seat passenger, plus traction control, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brakeforce distribution.

The Fairmont also offers a reverse sensing system, to detect other vehicles or objects behind the car, plus the comfort of leather seat trim and dual climate control, and a six-disc CD player.

The XR6 – described by Ford Australia as “extroverted” and “uninhibited” – stands out with its bright colour scheme, five-spoke alloy wheels and sports body kit, including side skirts, front and rear bumper spoilers and rear-mounted wing spoiler.

Inside, the XR6 features a leather steering wheel, 100-watt audio system and alloy pedal covers, plus dual front airbags, XR fog lights and, like the Fairmont, ABS braking and electronic brakeforce distribution.

The new XR6 and Fairmont sedans are being introduced progressively at selected Hertz locations throughout Australia.
