MaMaison Riverside Hotel in Prague set to double in size
MaMaison Hotels & Apartments has announced that expansion work at the Riverside Hotel, Prague, is underway. The renovations, which are in fact taking place in the building directly adjacent to the current hotel, will almost double the hotel’s number of rooms from 45 to 81. New flexible conference facilities are also under construction in the hotel courtyard. Expansion work on the hotel began at the end of last year, with completion scheduled for September 2008.
The building directly adjacent to MaMaison Riverside Hotel, at Janackovo nabrezi 15, was purchased by MaMaison’s parent company, ORCO Property Group, in 2006 from a private owner. UK-based architects, Jestico & Whiles, were selected to create and oversee Riverside’s expansion. This includes an increase in the number of parking spaces available for guests at the hotel, from 10 to 25. When works are completed, guests will continue to use Riverside’s existing entrance to access rooms and conference facilities in the hotel’s new wing.
A key part of Riverside’s expansion is the construction of an on-site conference facility in the hotel’s central courtyard. Upon completion, MaMaison Riverside Hotel will be able to host extended conferences, meetings and gatherings for up to 100 delegates at a time. The facilities have been designed with flexibility in mind.
The conference area can be divided by partition walls into three individual rooms, each with its own entrance onto a common foyer, allowing for multiple configurations. The conference facilities can also be accessed from the existing Riverside Breakfast and Meeting Room on the lower ground floor of the hotel, allowing for larger social events of up to 150 people.
“2008 has been a stunningly good year for Riverside thus far,†states JJ Doran, Sales Director for MaMaison Hotels & Apartments. “It looks like getting even better. This expansion announcement comes on top of a triple win for the hotel in the 2008 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards.
“We take these awards very seriously, as the winners are chosen by real travellers from around the world, and reflect the opinions of those who have actually experienced the everyday hospitality of the hotel or residence which they have voted for. From September this year, MaMaison Riverside Hotel will be able to cater for larger groups of guests, as well as those with conferencing requirements. The hotel’s prime location in the centre of the city, as well as its recent track record of awards, will surely result in greater success for the team at Riverside.â€
