IHG signs eight new hotels in Thailand
InterContinental Hotels Group has announced a big resort portfolio expansion In Thailand with eight new signings.
In partnership with Ratanakorn Asset, IHG will open new properties in Pattaya, Rayong, Phuket, Khao Lak and Koh Samui across Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites brands, bringing online another 2,000 rooms.
The new builds and a conversion will begin opening this year through 2027.
First up is Holiday Inn Express Pattaya Koh Larn which is being rebranded from the current Sealay Resort Koh Lam, which is slated to open in 2018.
Holiday Inn Express properties are also coming to Kata in Phuket and Chaweng, Koh Samui.
Holiday Inn Resorts are planned for Pattaya, Rayong, Koh Larn and Khao Lak.
IHG is also bringing its extended stay brand Staybridge Suites to North Pattaya.
"As a top travel destination for business and leisure alike, Thailand has always been an important market for us, serving as the regional launch pad for some of our key brands. Following the inaugural signing of Staybridge Suites in Bangkok last December, these latest additions will build on our growth momentum in the country and in our resort portfolio," said Clarence Tan, South East Asia and Korea MD for IHG.
IHG currently has 24 hotels open in Thailand across five brands with an additional 14 in the pipeline.
