In-flight delivery earns baby free flights for life
An airline has reportedly promised free flights for life to a baby who was born on one of its flights. According to the online news provider Ananova, the Colombian carrier Satena made the promise after Maria Eugenia Torres went into labour while being flown to the capital Bogota. The website quotes the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo, which says the baby has even been named in honour of the airline: Ramon Sateno Torres. And it seems that being born in strange places runs in the Torres family; Ramon’s elder brother Cesar was born while his mother was travelling to hospital on a bus. Wags in the News From Abroad office have commented that it was lucky Mrs Torres was not flying with Virgin Atlantic at the time.
