India’s largest airline IndiGo is set to soon announce a mega aircraft order for 500 jets.

Airbus is said to be the frontrunner for the deal with 500 A320-family jets.

It is expected to announce the bulk order soon.

It would eclipse the recent mega order by Air India.

IndiGo is one of Airbus’ biggest customers with hundreds of planes still to be delivered from previous orders.

The airline has recently announced a raft of new international routes in Southeast and Central Asia and Africa.

IndiGo CEO Peter Elbers expects the airline to carry 100 million passengers by the end of next year.
