Internet transactions in seconds instead of minutes?
Internet transactions in seconds instead of minutes? That’s the premise of Laszlo Systems, which announced at the PhoCusWright conference that Terrell Jones, founder of Travelocity, had joined its advisory board. Travel sites can replace dozens of HTML pages with a single page approach using Laszlo, say company officials. The system makes it easier for users to change flight selections, view itineraries and get the information they are looking for without waiting for page refreshes or navigating through a morass of Web pages. “Our point is how to simplify. This is really about doing something in seconds that might otherwise take several minutes or that can’t be done at all” Barry James Folsom, president and CEO, Laszlo Systems, told TravelMole. One advantage for tour operators and others is that they can have an affiliation with the Laszlo system without losing their own website, he added. Laszlo’s technology also enables online travel providers to dynamically package complementary product offerings such as rental cars and hotel upgrades, he added. The result: better service and increased sales. Added Mr Jones: “While the travel industry took a giant step forward with the advent of the internet, today’s consumers are experiencing problems with the online booking process every three minutes. Imagine the possibilities if there was a solution that enhanced the transaction experience and reduced today’s multi-page shopping experience to just one page?”
