Jakarta launches dedicated golf tourism website
The Jakarta Tourism and Culture Office has launched the next phase of its golf tourism campaign by rolling out a new dedicated website for golfers – www.enjoyjakartagolf.com.
The content is based on work by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) alongside the city’s Tourist Office to identify and showcase 21 of Jakarta’s 30 golf courses best suited to Australians and other international golf travellers.
"The launch of this website dedicated to the needs of golf travellers is another important step in our development as a golf destination. Few capital cities can offer 21 courses easily accessible and welcoming to golf visitors, and now everyone can see the great variety of golf experience on offer within 60 minutes’ drive of the city," said Hari Wibowo, manager of international promotion for Enjoy Jakarta.
Wibowo highlighted some of the unique standout features of playing golf in Jakarta.
"We simply have the best caddies in the world, as so many of our golf visitors have commented on; and then there is the unique opportunity to experience golf as a VIP with a group of friends or colleagues, as virtually all of our courses offer VIP facilities including private changing rooms and lounges that can be rented by visitors looking for that extra-special experience."
Aside from golf, the website also features a ‘City Experiences section with details of shopping, restaurants and bars.
The 4th IAGTO Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC) takes place in the city from 27-30 April 2015 at the Balai Sidang Jakarta Convention Center with 135 golf tour operators from 32 countries already confirmed.
