Jet Airways launches Twitter flight status, fare quotes
Indian carrier Jet Airways will offer real-time personalised flight status reports and fare quotes to customers via Twitter.
It is the airline’s latest customer-centric initiative to make communication more seamless, says Cramer Ball, CEO at Jet Airways.
"By using digital and social media platforms, we will empower our guests with information that can help them plan their travel more efficiently and enhance their overall experience with Jet Airways," Ball said.
"Innovation has always been a key feature in Jet Airways’ operating philosophy and #JetInstant is another pioneering customer driven initiative.
The airline developed the service with Twitter and tech firm TravelSpends.
Customers can use the service after becoming a follower of the official Jet Airways Twitter account @jetairways.
Flight status can be checked by tweeting the following format: @jetairways fltstatus <Flight No> <Departure Date in DDMM format>".
It says an update will be sent within seconds as a direct message.
It also offers a LoFares alert service which customers can check by tweeting: @jetairways lofares <Origin> <Destination> <Departure Date in DDMM format> <Return Date in DDMM format>.
Again results will be sent as a direct message to the customer’s Twitter account.
"As an organisation that prides itself on guest service, #JetInstant will allow Jet Airways to offer services with a personal touch and greater convenience," said Arvinder Gujral, director, business development, Twitter India and SE Asia.
