Le Shuttle warns of delays following tunnel breakdown
Le Shuttle is warning customers of delays to its service for passengers travelling from Folkestone this morning after a train broke down in the Channel Tunnel yesterday afternoon.
A message on the Le Shuttle website warns of waiting times of around 30 minutes before check in and a further 90 minutes on the terminal.
"We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this will cause to your journey," it said.
Local media reported that a train from Calais to Folkestone stopped in the tunnel at around 5pm yesterday, leaving passengers stranded.
According to Kentonline.co.uk, they were evacuated from the train after two hours, then left in the tunnel for at least two hours longer waiting for a recovery train.
