Lufthansa cuts UK-Germany fares by up to 30 per cent

Lufthansa is cutting the price of flights between UK and Germany in both Economy and Business Class on 19 routes.

The airline says the new fares will lead to significant savings for UK passengers of up to 30 percent and for the first time will feature a special economy off-peak fare.

The airline said flying Economy Class between Birmingham and Frankfurt, for example, fares will start from £113.50 (7 day advance purchase and either 2 days or Sat night minimum stay required), saving almost 29 per cent on the previous lowest fare level. Similarly, from Manchester to Frankfurt, return economy fares start at £113.60, representing a saving of over 30 per cent on the previous lowest fare level and £453.60 for Business Class, a saving of over 24 per cent.

Initially introduced on German domestic routes last month, the airline said the new economy off-peak fares allow customers to attend business meetings and appointments and fly home the same day – without having to consider any of the usual conditions such as minimum stay period, weekend restrictions or overnight stays. These fares apply for travel Monday-Friday 09.00 -15.00 and after 20.00, or all day Saturday and Sunday.

The new fares come into effect immediately. All fares include taxes, fees and charges and are combinable within their respective fare levels (i.e. either in Economy Class or in Business Class).
