Mandarin Media moves into Indonesia
JAKARTA – Mandarin Media, a US-based PR and digital media firm, will offer its services across Indonesia from June 2010.
The company will collaborate on this venture with Tom O’Brien, a seasoned travel magazine writer, editor and publisher, to open Mandarin Media offices in Jakarta and Bali.
A Canadian expatriate and co-founder of Destinasian magazine, O’Brien sees Indonesia as one of the region’s more under-represented countries within its hospitality sector.
“It has always been our intention to seek out Indonesia and Indonesian properties for their huge promise — not just that of Bali and its recognised locales, but the up-and-coming destinations throughout the archipelago, existing and those currently under development,†said Jim Sullivan, general director of Mandarin Media’s Southeast Asia operations.
“If you take Jakarta as an example, here’s an urban centre that hasn’t generated the best press in recent years.
“Nonetheless the capital offers luxurious facilities, a vibrant and distinct culture, world-class golf courses, a variety of excellent spas, and remarkable shopping, and not just familiar international brands but the country’s own rich and inimitable fashion, batik.â€
Mandarin Media’s client list includes a broad mix of corporate entities (Gannon Industries and its partner brands in Vietnam, Budweiser and Budget Rental Cars), luxury hotels (Caravelle Hotel, La Residence, Nam Hai, Life Resorts, Sheraton Nha Trang) and golf resorts (the new Montgomerie Links Vietnam, and the new Thai golf cooperative, ‘Golf in a Kingdom’).
O’Brien can be reached at [email protected] or, +62 8121 888 3334.
