Marriott signs partnership deal with Alitrip

Marriott International has inked a partnership deal to become the first major global hospitality company with an online store on the Alitrip e-commerce platform.

"We are delighted to be the first global hotel company to sign such a significant agreement with Alitrip," said Craig S. Smith, Asia pacific president of Marriott International, Asia Pacific.

"With 19 Marriott International brands and over 4,000 hotels available through Alitrip, Chinese travelers will see a major increase in the number of rooms they can book through Alitrip."

It follows a recent tie-up with Alipay to offer the payment option for Chinese travelers at all Marriott hotels.

"We are excited to partner with global hotel chains such as Marriott to broaden our hotel offerings to customers. Alitrip is the go-to platform for Chinese travelers looking for a full range of choices and customized travel experience, and this cooperation with Marriott will make travel planning easier than ever for our users," said Alitrip president Li Shaohua.

The two companies said they would also look at rolling out the ‘Post Post Pay’ at Marriott hotels.

This payment option enables qualified customers to reserve through Alitrip without paying the need to pay a deposit and which also benefit from an express check-out service.
