New carrier AirBorneo takes off with Sabre network planning and pricing tech
Malaysian state-owned carrier AirBorneo has teamed up with Sabre Corporation.
The newly established airline began operations in early January 2026 and has chosen Sabre to underpin its planning and pricing strategy.
It is adopting Sabre’s technology to support both regional connectivity and long-term growth.
Through the multi-year deal, AirBorneo will deploy Sabre’s Network Planning & Optimization (NPO) suite to automate and efficiently manage flight schedules, codeshare agreements, and route profitability.
It will also utilise Sabre Mosaic Revenue Optimizer to support dynamic pricing strategies, adjusting seat availability and fare conditions in response to market demand.
AirBorneo has contracted Sabre Market Intelligence & Global Demand Data to gain insights and competitive benchmarks to fuel network and revenue growth.
“AirBorneo is committed to building a modern, competitive airline that enhances connectivity in Sarawak and the wider region,” said Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin, CEO, AirBorneo.
“By partnering with Sabre even before our first flight took off, we are ensuring that our pricing, planning, and revenue management capabilities are built on a robust, data-driven foundation.”
AirBorneo is owned by the state of Sarawak.
It was created by the rebranding of MASwings, and aims to maintain vital air services across Sarawak and Sabah as well as expand connectivity beyond initially within a four-to-five-hour flight radius.
This includes regional hubs in Singapore, Indonesia and South Korea.
