New operator announced for Greenock Cruise Port
Scotland’s Greenock Cruise Port has secured a landmark 50-year agreement with Global Ports Holding Ltd. (GPH) named as new operator at the facility.
It marks GPH’s entry into Scotland
It also operates Liverpool Cruise Port.
Under the long term agreement, GPH will operate the Clyde port, which is a cruise gateway to both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Stephen Xuereb, Global Ports Holding COO, said: “Greenock Cruise Port is an important addition to our network, strengthening our presence in Northern Europe. Our priority is to enhance operational efficiency and the passenger experience.”
Last year the port handled more than 80 cruise calls.
David Huck, chief operating officer at owner Peel Ports Group, said: “This is a huge milestone for the transformation of Greenock Cruise Port and further signifies the West Coast of Scotland’s status as a UK destination of choice.”
Global Ports Holding’s portfolio includes facilities in the Bahamas, Barcelona, Venice and Singapore.
