Marriott Hotels’ 12 New York hotels rocked up in Sydney and Melbourne this week to promote the Big Apple’s Marriott properties and according to Leon Goldberg, [pictured right] the New York Marriott Marquis’ Director of Sales and Marketing, the properties have recently undergone a $2 billion refurbishment, with Leon also revealing to assembled guests at the Sydney Circular Quay Marriott that tourism to the Big Apple is booming.

Leon said that Australians represent the fifth largest market into New York city and stay for an average of seven days.

Marriott has hotels though the Manhattan and also in Brooklyn, which is also booming, with all brands, including Marriott, Residence, Renaissance and Courtyard by Marriott brands represented.

Without doubt, the 49 floor, New York Marriott Marquis [Pictured left] located right on Times Square in the heart of the theatre district, is the flagship with nearly 2,000 rooms and a 37 floor atrium, a new fitness center and inside the hotel, the 1,600 seat Marquis Theatre.

The Marquis is unquestionably a New York landmark, also offering  five restaurants, with The View, New York’s only revolving roof top restaurant, the subject of a $4 million renovation.

I am sure you are already humming the song….New York, New York,………………….!
