Norwegian appoints new deputy chief executive
Low-cost airline Norwegian has promoted its chief financial officer Geir Karlsen to deputy chief executive just a year after he joined the carrier.
Karlsen has previously held various CFO roles with firms such as Golden Ocean Group and Songa Offshore.
Prior to joining Norwegian, Karlsen was group CFO at London-based pool and management company Navig8 Group. He holds a degree in business administration from BI Norwegian Business School.
CEO Bjorn Kjos said: "Geir has during his one-year tenure at Norwegian proven solid leadership skills and boasts trust from colleagues on all levels of the Norwegian Group. I look forward to a continued close, constructive and strategically important cooperation."
