New York City Mayor Eric Adams says the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal will become a temporary migrant center.
Work has started on the new emergency shelter at the cruise terminal.
It will house 1,000 single adult men in the terminal building.
They will be housed there only until the cruise season kicks off in the spring.
Mayor Adams again mooted the possibility of housing migrants on cruise ships in the future.
