Ocean Village farewell offers unveiled

Discounts of up to £200 per couple lead a promotion for the final summer of sailings by Ocean Village in 2010.

A £500,000 nationwide advertising campaign showcasing the 2010 Mediterranean farewell season starts on January 4 and until January 31.

Adverts will appear on GMTV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and digital TV including Sky, plus exposure on ITV1 North, Central and Scotland.

Kicking off on December 28 and running until February 228, Ocean Village will offer up to £200 per couple off the full brochure price of 14-night Med cruises and £100 per couple off seven-night options.

The ‘Farewell Season Savings’ campaign means that Ocean Village’s TV advert, in  partnership with Thomas Cook, features a lead-in of £629 per person for seven nights featuring Venice and Dubrovnik, including flights.

Head of marketing communications Gill Haynes said: “In the current climate people are looking for quality, value and brands they can trust to deliver a great holiday experience.

“With customer quality scores from the ship still hitting record levels, these are things Ocean Village can be relied upon to deliver.

“Ocean Village heads towards its farewell season in an extremely strong position with substantially more accommodation sold than at this time last year. The increase in repeat bookings from 30% to 48% is a real endorsement of how much people enjoy their holidays with us and is something agents can use to demonstrate to the 52% of newcomers, that their first cruise with us will be a great one.

“If first timers are hesitating over making a commitment, agents need to help them over the tipping point now because we will sell out; it’s only a question of how soon.  For people wanting an informal cruise experience next summer, it’s a real case of ‘Don’t miss the boat’.”
