Opodo on the up
Opodo is undertaking a recruitment drive to boost staff by a third.
The online travel service grew from 32 to 75 staff between June 2001 and August 2002. The aim is to reach 100 staff in Europe by 2004.
HR manager Sarah Constable said: “In the last few weeks, Opodo has recruited around 19 people and is currently recruiting for another 8 positions to help market and develop the network of websites, each of which is individually tailored to each country”. The recruitment drive is focused on senior positions in technology and marketing departments in London.
The ideal candidate will have a travel-related background, IT and design experience, and speak languages.
Opodo’s recently launched package holiday service has been a success so far, with a 12% increase in booking figures in its first month. The most popular holidays booked on the site have been in Spain, Greece, Turkey and Malta.
