OSHA complaint stops Disneyland’s top rides
Disneyland temporarily closed three rides over the weekend after regulators cited the Californian theme park for safety protocols.
Space Mountain and The Matterhorn in Disneyland, and Soarin’ Over California at Disney California Adventure, were voluntarily closed on Saturday "out of an abundance of caution," a Disney spokesperson said.
The citations, received on Friday from the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, said Disneyland failed to correctly report or adequately correct "known fall hazards" that existed on the exterior of Space Mountain, and failed to "provide approved anchorages or tie-backs for contract employees to attach to" during scheduled maintenance to the outside of the building.
The Matterhorn reopened on Sunday. It is unclear how long the others will remain closed.
Meanwhile, Disneyland also this weekend opened its Iron Man Tech exhibit in Tomorrowland. Every suit of armor the superhero ever wore is on display.
