Paris will host big airbnb get-together
Airbnb will hold its annual host get-together in Paris – the first time it has been held outside of its home city of San Francisco.
The home sharing website said more people in Paris now share their homes with guests from around the world than in any other city.
Furthermore, there are also more Parisians using Airbnb to travel than from any other city.
“As the home of Airbnb’s biggest community, Paris is the perfect place for this year’s Airbnb Open,” said Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky.
“Our tight-knit community of Parisians is incredible, and we’ve grown from just 4,000 listings in Paris in 2012 to over 40,000 today. The positive response we received from hosts who attended last year’s Open blew us away so we can’t wait to see what the City of Light offers all of us this year.”
Around 6,000 Airbnb hosts from cities across the world are expected to attend the Airbnb Open, which will take place from November 12-14.
Last year, 1,500 hosts attended Airbnb Open in San Francisco and a third of them came from cities outside of the US.
The Paris event is expected to attract four times as many hosts from even more international cities.
Over two days, they will share tips and stories about hosting, hear from hospitality experts and together help shape future innovations in hospitality and travel.
