Price comes before destination, says Skyscanner poll
Brits are putting price before destination, according to a poll of Skyscanner customers.
The survey found only 16% of travellers have fixed travel dates and destinations for their trips.
Instead 28% of voters said they were ‘Bargain Hunters’ and that they’d ‘fly anywhere if the price was right’.
The poll also found that:
– 23% of voters classified themselves as ‘Wanderers’ who had not decided on a destination or date and were looking for travel ideas, claiming that they would fly ‘anytime, anyplace’
– 17% had a destination in mind, but were flexible on dates
– 15% had fixed travel dates, but were open on destinations.
“The recession has turned us into a nation of bargain hunters and adventurers,†said Skyscanner co-founder and director Barry Smith.
“Rather than setting our hearts on a single destination and fixed dates, more of us are now happy to take our holidays when and where we can find the best value. Brits have become more flexible and open to new destinations – as long as the price is right.â€
