Qatar Airways expands Boeing order
Qatar Airways has significantly expanded its existing order for Boeing 777X aircraft with the addition of 20 Boeing 777-9 jets.
It announced the deal at the Farnborough International Airshow.
The agreement includes an additional 40 GE9X engines to power the aircraft.
On the first day of the Airshow, Qatar Airways showcased the Qsuite Next Gen, which will be featured on the 20 additional Boeing 777-9 aircraft.
The updated Qsuite will have movable monitors with Bluetooth connectivity, larger lie-flat and double beds, a touchscreen passenger control unit and more.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO, Stephanie Pope, said: “Qatar Airways is a leader in our industry, and we are honored the airline added 20 more 777-9 jets.”
