Refund Credit Notes: Holidaymakers urged to ‘use it or lose it’

British holidaymakers are still sitting on £132 million worth of unspent vouchers issued for cancelled flights and holidays during the pandemic. They are now being reminded to use it or lose it.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said travel firms would no longer be able to issue refund credit notes (RCNs) after 20 December, while existing RCNs must be used by 30 September next year.

"We want to remind consumers to redeem any unused credits to make sure they do not lose out," said Michael Budge, head of ATOL.
