Rise in Eurotunnel bookings after ash cloud disruption
Eurotunnel has seen a 30% rise in online bookings since the volcanic ash cloud disrupted flights.
According to figures released by Eurotunnel today, visits to its website increased by 50% and calls to the contact centre went up by 40% on Monday (May 17).
“Reservations for the coming weeks show that, given the uncertainty and unpredictability linked to the ash cloud, customers are choosing in favour of the Shuttle,†said a statement.
Eurotunnel has made additional space available for Eurostar, enabling the high-speed rail service to run four extra trains to and from London during the disruption.
