Ruby Princess unveiled as latest addition to US line’s fleet
The third in a trio of mega liners for Princess Cruises is to be named Ruby Princess.
The sister ship to Emerald and Crown Princess is to enter service in November 2008 running seven-day Western Caribbean sailings from Fort Lauderdale in Florida.
The 3,080-passenger vessel will make its maiden voyage on November 15 next year. It will feature 900 cabins with private balconies.
Ruby Princess’s Caribbean programme will include calls at Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and the line’s private beach at Princess Cays in the Bahamas. The ship’s first season will run until April 2009.
Jan Swartz, senior vice president of customer service and sales for Princess, said: “The feedback from our passengers is that these new ships are really destinations unto themselves because of their great onboard amenities and features.
“Ruby Princess will be the perfect backdrop for our guests to enjoy the sun and fun of the Caribbean.”
