Ryanair ignores stock market gloom

It was yet another grey day for travel and tourism shares yesterday, as gloom descended on London’s equity markets.

 

The FTSE 100 index dropped back 31.9 points to end the day at 4340.7, while the FTSE had a similar session, falling 28.8 points to close at 6043.

 

Barely any shares in the “News From Abroad Index” gained ground – the notable exception being Ryanair, which added 4.75p to close at 322.25p.
