The Golden State’s capital Sacramento is the place to visit in 2024, especially for those who crave delicious food and top class events.

The city is busy with diverse happenings celebrating art, sport, music and food year-round.

Here are some of the top events not to be missed.

 

Sacramento Kings vs Los Angeles Lakers at the Golden 1 Centre March 6

Catch the city’s NBA basketball team, the Sacramento Kings, take on state rivals Los Angeles Lakers at the Golden 1 Centre in March. The crowd atmosphere here is electric.

 

Summertime concerts in the park every Friday May 5 – July 28 5-9pm

California’s largest, longest-running free music festival will be back in downtown Sacramento with another packed line-up featuring Grammy-winning artists, DJs, and Sacramento music legends. Summertime concerts in the park happen every Friday where visitors enjoy free music, live artists, photo ops, food trucks and beverages at Cesar Chavez Plaza.

 

2024 Farm to Fork Festival September 5-21

The Farm to Fork Festival is a celebration of the region’s food and agriculture, and a chance to honor the people who bring delicious food and drinks to tables across the city every day. This highly anticipated festival, drawing thousands of visitors from across the country, will return to Sacramento’s Capitol Mall combining fresh food, local beers and wines, plus  cooking demonstrations and interactive exhibits.

 

Aftershock Music Festival October 10-13

California’s biggest rock festival is returning to Sacramento’s Discovery Park for its 12th year. It is nonstop music from over 90 heavy metal and rock bands, with top food and drinks and various sponsorship activations and experiences.  Aftershock is a festival rock lovers won’t want to miss. The Aftershock lineup will be announced in the spring.

 

Golden Sky Country Music Festival October 18-20

Golden Sky festival is the ideal weekend for country music fans. This year it is headlined by Keith Urban, Thomas Rhett, and Luke Bryan. Golden Sky is much more than just a country music festival, with line dancing in the River City Saloon, top end food from some of the city’s best restaurants at The Farm House, and sports action on the big screen.
