Seabourn’s award-winning Seabourn Quest has emerged from drydock following the most extensive interior refurbishment in the luxury cruise line’s history. The upgrades span suites, public spaces, dining venues, retail areas, and the spa, creating a more relaxed and refined onboard atmosphere while enhancing the comfort and understated luxury guests have come to expect.
The ship will continue its Mediterranean season through November 2026, operating a series of immersive seven-day voyages between Dubrovnik, Fusina (Venice), Istanbul, and Athens. The itineraries include calls at yacht harbors and island destinations throughout Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, and Turkey. Guests can also combine sailings to create longer 14- and 21-day journeys.
“This drydock represents an investment that reflects our unwavering commitment to elevating every aspect of the guest experience,” said Mark Tamis, President of Seabourn. “Seabourn Quest has always enjoyed a loyal following, and we wanted to enhance the spaces where our guests spend their time onboard—from the comfort of their suite to the atmosphere of The Club in the evening—to ensure they enjoy the very best experience at sea.”
Reimagined Public Spaces
Among the most significant transformations is The Club, which now features a sophisticated speakeasy-inspired design, a reconfigured layout, enhanced lighting, and an updated bar. The redesign creates a more seamless setting for live music and social gatherings while improving the flow between the lounge, bar, and dance floor.
Throughout the ship, public areas have been refreshed to enhance both movement and ambiance. The atrium, corridors, and stairways feature new carpeting inspired by the natural movement of water. The main pool deck has been upgraded with a new sound system, improved lighting, and refreshed teak decking.
Seabourn Square now offers a warmer, living-room-style atmosphere with new furnishings and intimate bistro-style seating. The Observation Bar has been updated with new carpeting and furniture, creating a brighter and more inviting space for enjoying panoramic ocean views.
The spa has also been enhanced with a redesigned reception area, all-new fitness equipment, and an updated salon featuring modern finishes, lighting, and furnishings designed to promote relaxation and well-being.
Onboard retail boutiques have received updated finishes, lighting, and display elements, creating a more inviting shopping environment. These enhancements align with recent upgrades made across Seabourn’s ocean fleet.
The Colonnade has been refreshed with new flooring, carpeting, seating, and an upgraded service area that better showcases live culinary demonstrations. Meanwhile, The Restaurant now features new carpeting and drapery that deliver a lighter, more contemporary appearance while maintaining the venue’s elegant character.
Refreshed Suites and Accommodations
Suites across all categories have been upgraded with new mattresses and luxurious wool carpeting. Penthouse and premium suites also feature updated veranda furniture, providing guests with a more inviting outdoor space to relax and enjoy ocean views.
The refurbishment reflects an evolved design philosophy intended to create a more residential and personalized atmosphere throughout the ship. Inspired by the textures and colors of destinations visited by Seabourn, the interiors incorporate layered materials and finishes that create a cohesive guest experience.
“Our goal was to create spaces that feel natural, intuitive, and effortlessly comfortable,” said Linh Nguyen, Senior Manager of Interior Design & Assets Management. “Rather than drawing inspiration from a single destination, the design takes a broader approach, using materials and scale to create environments that feel balanced, familiar, and welcoming.”
Sustainability Initiatives
The renovation also incorporated several sustainability measures aimed at reducing waste and extending the lifecycle of onboard materials.
More than 215,000 square feet of carpeting was replaced, with all original carpet diverted from landfills and slated for repurposing into new carpet padding for future Seabourn projects. New suites now feature biodegradable Cradle to Cradle-certified Dansk Wilton wool carpeting that supports a closed-loop lifecycle approach.
In addition, all mattresses removed during the renovation were dismantled and recycled by the shipyard, while lounge furnishings were donated to a local Italian nonprofit organization, extending their useful life and benefiting surrounding communities.
Continued Investment in the Fleet
The 2026 drydock builds upon previous enhancement programs and represents the largest interior investment in Seabourn’s history. The project also included upgrades to crew accommodations, amenities, and workspaces, supporting the team members who deliver Seabourn’s signature personalized service.
Guests wishing to experience the newly refreshed Seabourn Quest can take advantage of Seabourn’s Exploration Event, which offers savings of up to 15% on select summer ocean and expedition voyages. The line is also offering up to $1,000 in onboard credit per suite on select winter sailings.
