Southwest pumping up flights for spring and summer travel
Southwest Airlines announced an additional 15 new flights in 15 city-pairs across the nation, with six of them serving New Orleans.
The new flights will be added in four installments.
“Southwest Airlines customers are traveling at record rates, and they’re asking for more flights,” said Kevin Krone, vice president of marketing, sales and distribution.
Among other routes, the flights include a new daily nonstop roundtrip from Las Vegas to Orlando; a new daily nonstop round trip between Chicago Midway and Orange County; and a new daily nonstop roundtrip between New Orleans and Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood.
With the addition of six New Orleans flights, Southwest Airlines will be offering 24 daily nonstop flights from New Orleans to ten cities.
The airline is offering a special low fare on some routes as low as $99, available under certain conditions.
