Sportsnet Holidays acquired by Formula 1 owner
Melbourne based sports travel package retailer Sportsnet Holidays has been acquired by Liberty Media Corporation.
Formula 1 owner Liberty Media announced the acquisition of Sportsnet Holidays’ parent company, QuintEvents, LLC as part of a $313 million transaction.
The deal adds Quint and Sportsnet to Liberty’s brand portfolio which includes Formula 1, Sirius XM and Live Nation.
“This is a transformative moment for Sportsnet’s future,” said Rob Cecconi, Sportsnet Holidays founder.
Sportsnet Holidays will continue to operate as an independent company but with a more comprehensive list of top sports events to market.
“Quint is excited about the acquisition of Sportsnet and what it means to our group of companies over the long term”, said Quint CEO, Brian Ruede.
Sportsnet Holidays has been providing official ticket and accommodation travel packages to many top sports and entertainment events for 25 years.
It has official travel partnerships with the Australian Open, Australian Grand Prix Corporation, Supercars Championship, VRC, AFL, NRL and many more.
