Spring break season is coming which means a host of unique festivals and special events in St. Pete-Clearwater.

Iconic sunsets and pristine beaches are joined by an extensive array of happenings for residents and visitors, including sporting events, festivals, special museum exhibits and more.

Sunset Spectacle at Pier 60 (Clearwater Beach, Daily): Every evening, the shoreline transforms into a vibrant celebration featuring street performers and talented artisans amid a spectacle backdrop of the sun setting.

Safety Harbor Craft Beer Festival (Safety Harbor, March 8): Sample a wide variety of local and regional craft beers in the charming setting of Safety Harbor. Enjoy live music and a festive atmosphere.

Artistic Immersion: Akiko Kotani’s “BURST” at the Chihuly Collection (through March 8): Museum guests can immerse themselves in the vibrant power of nature at the Chihuly Collection in St. Pete. The special exhibit features large, crocheted panels, and captures the raw energy of nature through color and form.

Back to the Beach: Sand & Kites & Coastal Delights (Treasure Island Beach, March 8-9): Treasure Island Beach is alive with a spirited celebration of resilience and community. Event will feature a giant sand sculpture, colorful kites, live music, food trucks, and local vendors, creating a festive atmosphere.

Tarpon Springs Fine Arts Festival on the Bayou (March 8-9): Explore one of the nation’s top-rated juried art shows. With over 500 applicants annually, this festival showcases a diverse range of high-quality artwork.

Concerts by the Harbor (Clearwater, select dates) – Concerts are held year-round at The BayCare Sound at Coachman Park. In March, hall of famers and award-winning performers will grace the stage. Tickets available at RuthEckerdHall.com. Concert line-up:

Major League Baseball Spring Training: Every year, baseball fans are in for a treat in St. Pete-Clearwater. TD Ballpark in Dunedin Fla. and the BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, are the official spring training sites for the Toronto Blue Jays and the Philadelphia Phillies, respectively. Catch some of their upcoming matches in March:

March 17: Phillies vs. Blue Jays (BayCare Ballpark) – Clearwater, Fla

March 19: Phillies vs. Yankees (BayCare Ballpark) & Blue Jays vs. Yankees (TD Ballpark)

Pickleball on the Pier (St. Pete Pier, through March 16):  St. Pete Athletic presents a dynamic pickleball event, inviting players of all levels to engage in the fast-paced action and social connection. Pricing: ‍$5 to play pickleball all day; $5 to rent equipment (paddle and balls)

Reggae Rise Up Florida Festival – Coastal Rhythms (Vinoy Park, March 13-16): Experience the good vibes at one of the largest reggae festivals in the country. Featuring multiple stages, delicious food, and a laid-back atmosphere, the festival offers an unforgettable experience. Gates open at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 13th, and at noon Friday through Sunday. Lineup information is available here.

The Valspar Championship (Innisbrook Resort, Palm Harbor, March 20-23): Witness the skill of pro golfers on the links of the challenging Copperhead Course in the PGA Tour’s only event on Florida’s West Coast.

John’s Pass Seafood Festival: A Gulf Coast Feast (Madeira Beach, March 28-30): Savor the freshest seafood at the 43rd annual John’s Pass Seafood Festival. This three-day event features hundreds of local vendors, an arts and crafts show, live music, and family-friendly activities.

Embracing Our Differences (Poynter Park, St. Pete, now through March 31): Experience this impactful traveling international public art exhibition in St. Pete. This returning exhibit promotes inclusion and celebrates diversity.

Dive into Dreamscapes: “The Subversive Eye” (The Dalí Museum, through May 4): Celebrate 100 years of Surrealism with “The Subversive Eye: Surrealist and Experimental Photography from the David Raymond Collection.” This captivating exhibition showcases more than 100 works by 50 artists, revealing the revolutionary impact of Surrealism on photography.

SURVEY THE WEST: A CROSS-CONTINENTAL REFLECTION (The James Museum, St. Pete, through May 18: A cross-continental artistic journey with internationally recognized Tampa-based artist Ya La’ford. The exhibition was born from a 2022 expedition to the American West.
