Sydney Travel Industry Celebrates Canada Day 2008
Canada celebrated 141 years of Confederation with a gala themed lunch promotion in Sydney for key travel industry personnel and media at the Wildfire Restaurant, The Rocks on July 1.
Organised by the Canadian Tourism Commission and Travel Alberta, the mid day function not only marked Canada Day but was a “thank you for the overwhelming support of the destinationâ€, said Donna Brinkhaus, Managing Director, Australia, Canadian Tourism Commission.
In the first four months of this year the number of Australians visiting Canada has registered double digit growth, she said.
Jeannie Foster, General Manager, Australia & New Zealand, Air Canada also thanked the industry for its strong support of the airline’s daily nonstop service between Sydney and Vancouver and said the service would definitely continue.
