French Polynesia is back in business for tourism.
The Islands of Tahiti lifted mandatory quarantine rules and has welcomed the first flights from France and the US carrying leisure tourists.
However there are requirements for inbound travellers.
They must all register and be cleared via an online registration system ahead of arrival.
A negative PCR Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours is also required.
It doesn’t stop there. On arrival, travelers are given a self-test kit and must conduct the test four days after arrival.
The results can be taken to the nearest health facility or handed over to the hotel’s front desk.

The Islands of Tahiti are now designated Covid-free and one of the few destinations open to Americans.
President Edouard Fritch acknowledged there is a risk in opening up borders to Americans, but the economy is struggling badly and needs tourism dollars.
Air Tahiti Nui resumed its Los Angeles service at the weekend.
The Islands of Tahiti expects to welcome about 10,000 tourist arrivals by the end of August.
