TCF announces voluntary withdrawal of Global Marine Travel

TCF has announced that Global Marine Travel has voluntarily relinquished its participation in TCF, saying in its statement, “On 14 December 2007 the Chief Executive Officer of Travel Compensation Fund determined that the following participant ceased participation in TCF.”

TCF confirmed that it was a voluntary withdrawal saying, “GMT’s voluntary withdrawal from TCF has come about as a result of the reorganisation and restructuring of GMT’s operation in the region.

GMT said, “We also received legal advice that as all our phone enquiries and reservations are now dealt with at our call centres overseas, we no longer act as travel agents in Australia under the terms of the Travel Agents Act 1986.”

“We are passionately committed to all our clients in the region and this streamlining has resulted in us being able to continue to provide excellent value for money and now a seamless 24/7 service.”

“At the same time, we can provide our clients with even better access to the world’s most competitive air fares for cruise passengers and also ship and super yacht crew, with “open jaw” ticketing and also no or very few restrictions or cancellation penalties.”

“We are members of IATA and the relevant customer protection organisations in all other countries ensuring that all our clients are always very well protected, therefore do not need to be members of IATA or TCF in Australia”

More information on GMT can be obtained at www.flygmt.com or by emailing either [email protected] for Air Sea tickets, that is open jaw or point to point tickets for passengers joining cruise vessels or [email protected] for marine fares, that is tickets for shipping or yacht crew.
