A plane crash in Kenya has claimed the lives of 10 tourists and a local pilot.
The small aircraft was flying from tourist area Diani to the Maasai Mara game park when it crashed, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority said.
Onboard were eight Hungarians and two German tourists.
It was operated by Mombasa Air Safari.
“Our primary focus right now is on providing all possible support to the families affected,” it said.
Images of the plane in flames, with debris strewn across a large area, were published by local media. The victims haven’t been publicly named yet.
An investigation has started with suspicion bad weather may have been a factor in the crash.
Kwale County Commissioner Stephen Orinde said: “The weather is not very good here at the moment. Since early in the morning, it is raining and it is very misty, but we cannot preempt the findings.”
