Thomas Cook e-commerce boss to leave company
The chief executive responsible for leading Thomas Cook’s online strategy is to leave the business at the end of the month.
In a statement issued today, the Group confirmed that Thomas Doering, chief executive for e-commerce, would be replaced by Susan Duinhoven, former chief executive of western Europe.
It said Duinhoven will take responsibility for developing "a centre of excellence for the web to drive growth through product, content, web performance and to improve the overall customer experience".
Duinhoven joined Thomas Cook in 2010 and has been credited with successfully initiating and restructuring that segment, which eventually became part of the Group’s continental Europe division. She has also held senior positions at McKinsey and Unilever.
A spokesperson for Thomas Cook Group said: "Susan’s background and experience will be critical as we strengthen our online presence which is an important additional channel for our future in every part of the business."
Doering has decided to pursue a career outside travel after spending 11 years with Thomas Cook, it said. A company spokesperson added: "We wish Thomas well in the future."
