Over the next few months Miami will play host to a range of top events celebrating arts, music, food and fitness while, as home to some of the country’s biggest sporting franchises, Miami remains a key city for spectator sports.

At the end of January, thousands of fitness enthusiasts will once again descend on Miami Beach for TYR Wodapalooza Festival, one of the world’s premier functional fitness festivals, showcasing over 2,000 athletes competing in a variety of events. The festival will take place in Lummus Park and runs over four days from 23-26 January featuring a range of competitions, fitness exhibitions and seminars. The event offers something for everyone, from elite athletes to fitness fans. Since its inception in 2012, TYR Wodapalooza has grown into a major event, attracting athletes and spectators from across the globe.
The Life Time Miami Marathon and Half Marathon takes over the streets of Miami on 2 February. It has become one of the most popular marathons in America over its 22-year history attracting over 25,000 runners crossing the causeways into Miami Beach and back into Downtown Miami, with full marathoners continuing to Coconut Grove. For beginner runners, the course offers a fairly easy route.
Exploring the Everglades is always on people’s to do list. For cycling enthusiasts, one of the coolest ways to delve into the River of Grass is by competing in Gravel Miami, a cycling event that rolls along the gravel paths crisscrossing the Everglades. The race which takes place on 2 March is open to the public and offers 36, 56 and 107-mile routes, so anyone with a decent level of bike fitness can participate. It begins and ends at Miami Brewing Company in Homestead, so you can reward yourself with a cold beer at the end of the adventure.
During the last two weeks of March, the top players in men’s and women’s tennis gather in Miami for the Miami Open. One of the largest tournaments outside the Grand Slams, the Miami Open takes over the courts at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens for two weeks, and the grounds are filled with bars, restaurants and other installations that go far beyond the game. Grab a ticket to the stadium court and you can catch the tournament’s best matches inside an NFL stadium. The Miami Open is the only tennis tournament played in such a venue.
March also brings Miami’s signature regatta as Miami Sailing Week docks in Coconut Grove. The weeklong competition showcases races for youth sailors to professionals, with over 200 boats from over 20 countries competing. Fans can watch from Regatta Park, where hospitality tents and live music provide a perfect backdrop.
FIFA World Cup 2026
The men’s FIFA World Cup 26 is set to place Miami at the heart of football fever as FIFA announced the match schedule for the tournament last year. Seven matches are set to take place in the Miami Stadium from 15 June to 18 July 2026, including one quarter final and the bronze medal match.
Miami is planning to create vibrant fan zones in iconic areas that will soon be revealed to the public. These zones will offer large public viewing areas, entertainment, and activities for fans who aren’t attending matches in person. The city also plans to host various cultural events, music performances, and food festivals to showcase Miami’s diverse heritage.
World Baseball Classic 2026 recently announced that LoanDepot Park will host contests in all three rounds of the tournament, culminating in the Championship game. In 2023 the stadium became the first in history to host games in all three rounds in one of the most exciting tournaments to date.
