Tourism Malaysia and Agoda join forces to promote Visit Malaysia 2026

Tourism Malaysia has entered a two-year strategic partnership with digital travel platform Agoda. Both companies will position Malaysia as a leading travel destination in Southeast Asia, in line with the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign.
Through this collaboration, a series of digital marketing campaigns will highlight Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and vibrant cities to a global audience. Agoda will leverage its platform and social media channels to promote the country’s diverse tourism offerings. It will among others include themes such as rain forests, beaches, culinary experiences and cultural sites.
The partnership also supports Tourism Malaysia’s goal of attracting 45 million international visitors. Agoda will share its travel data and insights to strengthen Malaysia’s tourism strategies and enhance promotional efforts targeting both global and domestic travelers.
Tourism Malaysia’s Director-General, Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, emphasized the value of digital innovation in reaching today’s travelers. Fabian Teja, Agoda’s Director for Malaysia, noted the company’s commitment to showcasing Malaysia’s unique appeal through engaging content and technology.
In addition, both parties will organize joint workshops focusing on travel trends and sustainable tourism. The initiative is expected to improve traveler experiences. It will also contribute to the long-term growth of Malaysia’s tourism sector, paving the way for a successful VM2026.
From January until April 2025, Malaysia recorded 13.4 million international visitor arrivals. This represents a 21.0% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Largest inbound markets were Singapore, Indonesia, China, Thailand and India.
