Tourism office apologises to Oprah Winfrey
The Swiss tourism office has apologised to Oprah Winfrey via Twitter for her ‘racist treatment’ in Zurich.
The talk show host told US programme, Entertainment Tonight, that a shop assistant refused to show her a handbag when she was visiting Switzerland last month because it was "too expensive" for her.
The Swiss tourism office told Associated Press it was very sorry and also posted an apology on Twitter, saying "this person acted terribly wrong."
Winfrey, 59, was last month named the most powerful celebrity in the world by Forbes.
