Tourism Society to move base
The Tourism Society is to share the headquarters of the Hotel & Catering International Management Association (HCIMA).
Both organisations stressed that they will remain separate bodies after the Tourism Society moves from its central London office to the Sutton headquarters of the HCIMA from August 4.
Flo Powell, executive director of the 1,200-member Tourism Society, said: “This move will enable the society to instigate a new direction and a fresh start for the future.
“The improved IT support and a more enjoyable working environment are just two in the list of reasons for this move.”
HCIMA chief executive Philippe Rossiter said: “Though we remain two separate organisations, we share similar priority objectives regarding the promotion of ‘best practice’ management within the hospitality, tourism and leisure industry.
“Conferences and seminars are just two of the many areas where there are obvious synergies between the two organisations.”
