Travel salaries fall, but vacancies rise
Average travel salaries have fallen for the first time in six months, but they are still ahead of this time last year.
They were down over 4% in February compared with January, but up 3.89% year on year, according to the latest Travel Salary Index from C&M Recruitment.
It said the number of vacancies increased strongly, as many companies in the travel industry created new roles.
The number of new jobs has increased both month on month and year on year for the first time since last June, it said.
"Despite February seeing candidate numbers rise for the second month in a row, the relative lack of applicants in the market means there is also less competition for job seekers than there has been recently, so there are plenty of job opportunities waiting to be grabbed by the right applicants," said C&M director Barbara Kolosinkska.
