TripAdvisor rolls out flight review platform

Monday, 14 Jul, 2016 0

TripAdvisor has launched a new airline reviews platform allowing customers to now make informed comparisons between different between flight options.

It will include all major carriers, it said, and research shows customers want to assess airlines in the same way they do with hotels.

"The time has come for a better way to research, compare and shop for flights. Additionally, we’ve introduced a set of new features within our search experience to help consumers better understand the true value of air travel beyond price," said TripAdvisor global flights business senior vice president Bryan Saltzburg.

"Over the years, the in-flight experience has changed dramatically – in some ways for the better, in some ways for the worse. We know our users tell us it is not always easy for travelers to find the best options by just looking at the baseline price of a flight."

The beta version of the Tripadvisor ‘flyscore’ rates aircraft quality, in-flight amenities and itinerary length on a scale of 1-10.

It also lists more comprehensive information about onboard amenities, including the availability of power points and type and quality of Wi-Fi.

The flight review launch coincides with an updated, redesigned flight search tool.
