TUI Travel signs travel insurance deal
Mondial Assistance has won a major contract with TUI Travel to provide travel insurance.
It is being touted as one of the largest contracts of its kind in the UK and Irish travel markets.
TUI Travel UK & Ireland will become an appointed representative of Mondial Assistance, and Mondial will provide underwriting capacity through its insurance arm, Elvia Travel Insurance International.
Mondial will also provide claims management and international medical assistance for travellers.
In-branch sales and compliance training will be delivered in partnership with Citybond Suretravel, who will also act as the medical screening provider for the contract.
Mondial sales director corporate and travel Ben Smart said: “Combining our focus on customer service and ensuring that the necessary systems and controls are in place to meet the incoming regulatory requirements, we are committed to bringing real added value to our client and its customers.â€
TUI Travel UK & Ireland distribution director Nick Longman said: “The quality of Mondial Assistance’s claims management and global assistance capacity are recognised worldwide, ensuring we can provide travellers with the best level of cover all over the world.
“This combined with the ability to manage costs without compromising on service, making Mondial Assistance the ideal partner.â€
