Two Britons die in plane crash
Two Britons were among eight people killed as the plane in which they were flying to a luxury African safari lodge crashed shortly after take-off.
The Foreign Office confirmed that the British pilot and a British tourist, believed to be an ex-pat living in Switzerland, were among the dead.
Four other passengers, two from France and two from Botstwana, managed to crawl from the wreckages of the Cessna 208, which crashed after take-off an airstrip in north Botswana's Okavango Delta.
Botswana's Civil Aviation Authority said the plane was a Cessna 208 operated by Moremi Air, which has since grounded its fleet pending an investigation in the crash.
The pilot of the aircraft was Moremi's general manager. The Foreign Office said the relatives of the two Britons killed had been offered consular assistance.
