Updated 13:40hrs, April 15.
A building in a Tenerife tourist resort collapsed leaving 11 people missing and two feared dead.
The four-storey block next to a tapas bar popular with British tourists called the Hide Away Pub, in Los Cristianos, Arona, gave way around 9.40am yesterday.
Arona mayor Jose Julian Mena saying he was unable to confirm whether anyone was trapped inside, reports the Sun.
Eleven people are still believed missing. Police were sending sniffer dogs to make their way inside the building.
Several nearby hotels have offered to put up residents affected by the collapse following the evacuation of neighbouring buildings.
The cause of the collapse is not yet known although there were reports of an explosion which could suggest a gas leak.
