The Indian Ocean island of Mauritius is to welcome two new Radisson Blu beach resorts later this year.

Carlson Rezidor said the Radisson Blu Azuri Resort & Spa and the Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette Resort & Spa, featuring 57 residences, are existing properties awaiting rebranding and scheduled for opening in the third quarter of 2015.

The Radisson Blu Azuri Resort has 100 rooms and 57 private residences, along with four restaurants and bars, swimming pools, a spa, fitness centre, a club lounge, a kids’ club, and a water sports.

The 100-key Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette Resort & Spa will have three restaurants, a spa, a business centre, a gym, and an outdoor swimming pool set on a three-acre beachfront site, and both are located one hour from the international airport.

"Mauritius is a must-see destination in the Indian Ocean and is one of the most strategic resort markets. These new management contracts are an important step for us to establish our presence and to further expand our upper-upscale resort network in the region," said Elie Younes, chief development officer at Rezidor.
