Thomas Cook has reported that UK sales are up with winter sun sales helping to bolster figures.
In its pre-close trading update, the tour operator said the UK ‘continues to trade ahead of last year, with significant bookings growth’.
For summer 2015, UK bookings are 4% higher than last year.
Thomas Cook said bookings to its Concept Hotels, which are mostly exclusive to Thomas Cook, are up 20% this year with strong growth in the UK, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium.
Bookings are up 10% overall for thomascook.com compared to the previous year, while conversion is up 19%, reflecting improved site efficiency.
Mobile and tablet bookings are up 63% and conversion on these devices up 39%.
Mobile and tablet bookings now represent one third of the total, up from around 20% last year, with bookings made on desktop computers comprising the remainder.
Peter Fankhauser, Chief Executive of Thomas Cook, said: "Our bookings for the full year are developing well, especially in the UK and Airlines Germany. I am confident that, by continuing to rigorously implement our strategy, we will further improve business performance."
Its six months’ results will be announced on May 20.
